There are lots of reasons to use cloth -- economics, environmental, political. Some of the sites in this section will provide you with those explanations. Some people are "religious" about cloth and follow the Attachment Parenting Theology. I don't. I came to cloth diapering for environmental reasons --- it takes about 450 years for a single disposable diaper to decompose -- but continue to do it because they are soft, cute, and easy.
I started on the path to cloth by searching for diaper services and quickly discovered that they have gone the way of pay phones. I did find, however, several sites that sold cloth diapers.
Most cloth diaper online stores also have information on how to prepare cloth diapers for use and how to wash them. It's a lot easier than you think, than your mother or friends will tell you. Really.

Fuzzi Bunz Like many other families, we use Fuzzi Bunz for nighttime. They are very absorbant and trim. We bought 6 of Mediums and now use 6 in size Large from Katies Kisses.
Chinese Cotton Prefolds - We have about 2 dozen of these and use them with covers. We have about 4 covers -- Prowrap Classics and Bumkins covers.
2 Kissaluvs Terry/Cotton fitted diapers. We use these with the covers. The down side to using fitted diapers is that they seem to get wet more quickly than prefolds.
6 Bumkins All-in-Ones - These diapers are just like disposables -- the cover and diaper are all one piece. Very easy to use and wash. They are a good option for running errands -- trim -- and easy to carry spares, but they are not as absorbant as other types of diapers. You can add absorbancy with a doubler insert. More expensive than other methods.
Katies Kisses is my primary diaper supplier. She excels in customer service and has a good selection of quality diapers. I have also purchased Fuzzi Bunz liners and Fuzzi Bunz diapers at Baby Belle Bottom. The owner of this store is also very nice and helpful. I received my order very promptly from both stores. Of course, one must obsessively discuss diapers while baby is asleep
Fuz Baby Art diapers. Expensive and beautiful. Handcrafted by real people. By the time I work up the courage to spend the money, E. will be potty-trained!
